Darkness

Hidden in darkness,
Away from the world,
In the depths of my soul,
And the crevices of my heart,
Where no one can see,
No one can guess,
No one to reach for,
Not even me.

Hidden in darkness,
Concealed with a smile,
Fits of laughter,
And a cheery dispostion.
No one can see,
No one can guess,
No one to know,
Not even me.

Hidden in darkness,
True feelings buried,
Deep beneath the surface,
Grasping for air,
Begging to be heard,
But no one can see,
No one can guess,
No one to hear,
Not even me.

Hidden in darkness,
Sadness and rage,
Burning with fire,
Engulfing my soul,
With a pain so intense,
But no one can see,
No one can guess,
No one to sense disaster,
Not even me.

Hidden in darkness,
My body cries out,
In need of salvation.
All ears have gone deaf,
All heads turned away,
No one is there,
No one can see,
No one can guess,
No one to stop destruction,
Not even me.
